The data was collected in partnership with EBRD and EIB. In addition to the core questions included in all standard ES, these surveys have additional questions on the green economy, regulatory governance, and the use of managers’ time. The ES team has also released a new 2019 survey of Micro enterprises in Georgia. Panel data for Kazakhstan 2009-2013-2019 is also now available on the data portal . All raw survey datasets are available on the data portal . The status of several Enterprise Surveys can be found on the current projects page. What’s Holding Back the Private Sector in MENA? Lessons from the Enterprise Survey This report presents the findings of Enterprise Surveys conducted in eight economies in the region in 2013 and 2014: Djibouti, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, the West Bank and Gaza, and Yemen. By analyzing detailed information on more than 6,000 private firms in the manufacturing and services sectors, the report provides fine-grained insights into the key drivers of firms’ performance and the major challenges of the business environment in which they operate. Enterprise Surveys in Latin America are jointly funded with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Enterprise Surveys in the Middle East and North Africa are jointly funded with EBRD and the EIB. In the past, other institutions have contributed to the Enterprise Surveys: the UK's Department for International Development (DFID) in South Asia and a subset of African countries, the Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF) in a subset of francophone West African countries (DGGF), and COMPETE Caribbean in the Caribbean.
